Regions of the genome that control a QT. Statistical methods are used to observe a significant linkage between phenotype in a segregating population and genotype at each locus of a linkage map. When transcript or metabolite profiles are used as QTs, these are referred to as eQTLs and mQTLs, respectively. (Langridge 2010)
