Association mappingsearch for term: also known as linkage disequilibrium (LD) mapping or association analysis, this is a population-based survey used to identify trait/marker relationships based on LD. The technique takes into account all the historic recombination events in a diverse population of individuals to generate higher resolution genetic maps and is needed to complement current map-based cloning methods.
